WORD OF THE DAY! 6/17/12.

quick time event (QTE) [kwik-tahym-ehv-ent]
noun
1. An interactive cut scene-like sequence in a video game where the player has a limited time in which to push a button, or sequence of buttons, displayed on screen.

EX. I think the problem with quick time events is, that while entertaining as a novelty, they manage to take you out of a cinematic moment and fail to simulate video game play; basically, the concept is a failed one.
